The phrase – Marijuana Addiction Treatment – raises one main question: Is the marijuana drug addictive? There is no easy answer to this, if you look at all the normal factors which qualify a drug to be addictive then NO it is not addictive. However a large government led survey found that out of all the people questioned who use marijuana, 4% of them meet certain criteria which qualify them to be classed as suffering from marijuana addiction. Is 4% a lot in normal terms, perhaps not, but there are millions of people who are using marijuana in some form of other and the figure then becomes quite a large group of people! Marijuana Detox

Before we discuss the questions about marijuana detox,  it’s best to know more about the drug marijuana. Marijuana is known as cannabis, marihuana and ganja, there many other terms to describe the drug but these are the most widely used. The drug is one of the psychoactive family. This is defined as a chemical compound which can cross from the blood into the brain and then become active on the nervous system where it alters mood and behaviour.

The most widely used form of marijuana is the herbal form which is made up of leaves, flowers and stems of the plant. There is a resin form which is known as hashish.
