Hypnosis is a powerful tool that many, many individuals are trying for all sorts of conditions and issues. An increasing number of people are turning to hypnotherapy to stop drinking. Drinking is becoming more and more an issue in these modern times because people are using it as a means to escape from their own reality. Due to the economic woos of the past 2 years, people are looking increasingly for means to escape, to search for ways to leave their problems behind. Unfortunately, alcohol is a temporary release, during many to consume more and more to hide from their problems. This of course further drives individuals and families apart. These people are looking for medical means as well as natural means to slow down their drinking, to reduce it or to stop completely. It is always best to consult your doctor about any preexisting condition but it must be said that many people are getting success with hypnosis and hypnotherapy as mechanisms in which their drinking can be slowed down, reduced and or eliminated.

The process works by having an individual look at their unconscious beliefs. It is many of these unconscious beliefs which are typically the driving forces behind someone’s addictions. Having them face up to those beliefs is essentially the first step, enabling them to face their demons as the saying goes. Having them confront their problems head on helps the person reestablish control and power and hypnosis can facilitate this exchange. In any case, the best thing you can do to find out more concerning an addiction, is to speak to their doctor who should be able to provide some meaningful advice.

There has been discussion amongst Lindsay Lohan’s inner circle whether it would be beneficial for her to go through rehab for drug treatment at a Holistic Drug Rehab center when her prison term ends. She received a ninety day sentence for violation of her probation which was part of her conviction for DUI in 2007.

One center which seems likely is in California and is the Malibu Beach Recovery Center . This center provides various holistic therapies.

Part of her sentence was the requirement for to go through some form of drug treatment for her misuse of prescription drugs.

Fox News had the drug addiction expert Marty Brenner on one of their programs to discuss the actress’s problems. He said that she would be likely to be treated with Yoga, diet and meditation. All this is designed to help her with detoxification for the prescription drugs.

A spokesperson for the treatment center said that a customized diet would be prepared which would exclude all refined foods and concentrate on wholefoods. She would also take a course of nutrition supplements and participate in the center’s exercise program.

Lindsay received a ninety day prison sentence buit is unlikely to serve much more than 14 days. The stay at the residential center will become part of the sentence so that in all probability she will serve close to 45 days in total.

He also said: It is meant to be for Cornish people, there is a real need for a detoxification centre in Cornwall, people think the problemas are in the inner cities only but it’s just as bad here in Cornwall.

The detox courses will last for about 2 to 6 weeks, nursing and counselling support will be provided 24 hours a day.

In drug rehabilitation, is it true that there are more young people in drug treatment centers for adults?

I have a friend who just got out of rehab for patients, he said that there are many other teenagers spend their time there. I wondered why.

I think the reason why most adolescents had not spent his time in rehab that your friend comes out is the fact that adolescents are more likely addicts. Peers play a big role in what it is about a young person starts using drugs or not. Those who do not use drugs during adolescence are less likely to start taking it when they get older. Each day about 4,800 Americans under 18 try marijuana for the first time. Therefore, governmental organizations and others are trying to prevent teenagers from taking more drugs.

In short, drugs that help in the treatment of addiction. Helps eliminate withdrawal symptoms. Having withdrawal symptoms is mainly which makes it difficult for a patient to stop eating themselves. Therefore, the drug that is capable of releasing a person these symptoms would be too severe. Another reason why drugs are necessary for the treatment of addiction is because it brings back the patient to normal brain function. It also restores the body’s state of health.

I’m doing this for a special project in school. As part of my report, I wanted to be able to include a few interviews of people who are undergoing a substance abuse treatment program. Does anybody know how I can get a hold of contact numbers of treatment centers?

It sounds like an interesting project, and I hope you do well.

Look in the yellow pages. You will find a list of the addiction treatment centers in your area there. Make sure to call first to ask them if you can interview the patients. Below are links that might be helpful. Good luck!

Opiate dependence is the state where a person has become dependant on one of the opiate class of drugs or is addicted to an opiate drug. Opiates are in the alkaloid class of drug but not all alkaloids are opiates, cocaine for instance is produced from coca leaves not from opium so cocaine dependence could not be classed as opiate dependence although some people think otherwise.

The two main opiate dependancies we need to address here are heroin dependence and morphine dependence. The management of opiate dependence is complicated as different methods and strategies are required for the different drugs within this term.

Detoxification is the first step to help a safe withdrawal from opiates, it is the forst step but the only one. Occasionally there are patients who when undergoing detoxification react so well that they do not need further intervention.

Most opiate detox is better undertaken as an in-patient; outpatient detox is possible but is very much less successful.

It is well known that for opiate dependence a multi drug detox approach is desirable and this can effected by the use of the following drugs: Clonidine, is an important detox agent and helps with some of the worst aspects of withdrawal. Other drugs are usually used in combination to help with pain relief (paracetomol), diarrhoea (loperamide) and cramps (hyoscine). Other drugs are also used to help with such things as an inability to sleep (nitrazepam). There can be side effects with all these drugs, hypotension is one commonly see with clonidine.

Replapses are to be expected and should not be treated with total despair it it does happen. The old saying “pick yourself up and start all over again” is the best way to look at it.

In 1964, methadone was started to be used for opiate, usually heroin dependence. This is an opioid which is taken orally and only needs daily administration. Until a patient can be trusted, he or she must attend a daily clinic to receive the methadone. Methadone is not considered a detox drug but an intervention drug. It is considered safe as long the prescribed dose is kept to. There is a lot of criticism in some area about the use of one opiate drug for another but this does not stand up when it is seen that tobacco intervention is extremely successful.

Is it possible to achieve full opiate independence? It is certainly considered to be so but it must be realised that it can be a long and tough road.

Naltrexone is another intervention drug from the opiate class and is also taken orally. Unfortunately naltrexone opiate dependence can take place especially if it is taken too soon after ceasing heroin or a similar opiate (usually considered to be about 7 to 10 days). Also there is some risk of fatality if the heroin use is resumed after intermittent use of naltrexone. All of this means that naltrexone therapy needs to be done under very strict medical supervision for successful treatment for opiate dependence.
